    Re: Guess What! Answer Thread

Our hero was doing a roadtrip across the coastline of Melbourne. In one sunny afternoon his wife sent him to buy some grocery and firewood but on the way back home his white and blue Volkswagen Kombi broke down. He grabbed his stuff and went down the road to find someone who could help him. Eventually, he came across some of his loathers and couldn't resist sharing the tales of the distant land. He used part of the wood he had aquired to make a camp fire and telling his talles he watched time "tic-toc" passing by. When he came aware of the time he got his things and start his journey home leaving his loathers to a good and long nap.
You wonder: "Why does he look so unhappy?"
Well, i'll tell you. Now, while walking down the path towards his loving and impatient wife he is interrupted by a sudden and disturbing thought in which his wife gives him a lecture for being late.

He might be a hero to the world but at home he's just a man.

Our hero is unhappy because he just remembered that one thing he came all the way to the market for but forget to buy it. And now He has to decide whether he should go back or continue his journey home.

Make a list next time hero.

With his esteemed horse Thoroughbred, Mark Atilius, our hero, embarked to buy some grocery and firewood last night. The journey only took 3 hours as he remembered to wear his Spurs, adding comfort to both him and his mount. Just a little after midnight, he arrived at the trading center of the continent. Trading here is done 24/7, as goods and resources pours endlessly through different merchants of different tribes – Roman, Gaul, and Teutons alike. Mark weaved through the busy streets of Belegost, finding a shack to let his horse rest for a while as he tries to buy things off his list. He found one just right around the corner and left Thoroughbred as he munched on a haystack.

Not long after, Mark came back to fetch his horse with his bags full of resources groceried under market value – thanks to his talent at bargaining. With a smile on his face he mounted Thoroughbred and started his way home.

Midway to his village, near an empty oasis, two bandits jumped out an ambushed our hero. He tried to outrun the bandits as he would have a hard time fighting them without Lightlance, the lance which he got after his 8th adventure. He willed his mare to go as fast as it could. As he ducked to decrease resistance from the air, an arrow whizzed beside his ear. Mark looked back and saw one of the bandits aimed another arrow straight to him. The bandit released the arrow then it hit Thoroughbred’s left leg. With a loud cry, the mare skidded through the plain along with Mark and his groceries.

The bandits clashed with our hero. Mark somewhat managed to snatch one of his opponent’s knife and with a single strike to the neck, the bandit fell to the ground. He then threw the knife to the other bandit and successfully pierced through his cloth into his abdomen. Mark sprinted to him, yanking off his short sword from his hand, pulled out the knife from his abdomen, repositioned himself at the back of the bandit, and then slit his opponent’s throat. He’s a hero for a reason.

Mark met some of his loathers along his way home, with the heavy bags on his back. They urged him to share what happened along the way as why he’s unhappy. He couldn’t resist so he told the tale of how he lost his steed.

The hero was travelling back to his village in Mursa after a exhausting day of collecting groceries and firewood in the villages and wilderness of Salona. On the way he met some of his loathers, and as usual he couldn't resist to show all the adventures he had in the nearby city. The loafers weren't satisfied so they challenged him that if he is strong and powerful he should take the other long route through wilderness of Bastarnae. Our hero took this on his pride and readily accepted the challenge. After hours of walking he reached his village at midnight with the half of the groceries he bought. The hero was unhappy and thought, if only he had carried a The Big pouch to carry more groceries and put on his New Spurs to help him travel fast, he could have completed the challenge with ease.

The hero was on his way to an adventure to fetch 25%wood and 25% crop for his village in salona expecting that it could would be a great experience to plunder the oasis there. Unknown to him, the oasis was being sniped and raided by a Teutonic hero of the enemy alliance with a double dozen Teutonic knights at just the same time.

The animals in the oasis gave a tough fight and our hero witnessed the bravery of it all. The crocodiles attacked from the lake, the elephants from the long bushes and the tigers from the mountains. Even the rats from their holes and snakes from the trees. Spiders clung to the horses.

The hero found a few wild boars charging out of a clay pit causing him to slip. He thought his way through and hid there from the teutonic hordes. While doing so, he managed to get a bit of clay stuck to his clothes, a few scraps of iron tore into the folds. His roman apparel of fine tunic had been smudged badly.

Nonetheless, he knew he'd find plenty of firewood, wheat and veggies to take back home. But as he made his way out, he found himself surrounded by the teutonic horde who laughed recklessly and carried upon them a distinct aroma of a brewery. Being a roman, he couldn't take the smell.

They offered him some and refused to let him leave, until he told them stories of his lands. The other hero needed to know what were the levels of his walls and the neighbor's palisades, when his senators were due and when the gallic neighbor's chiefs would ensue.

After a long talk they both parted ways. On the way back he realized that these animals could have been great at guarding his village. And he also knew that the teutonic horde would come back soon as their hero had mentioned that he intends to occupy and claim the lands of the oasis. The hero was upset as he wanted those animals and felt they could have made as a great addition and serve as protection outside his hero's mansion. The townsfolk would have loved the sight of an elephant as they rarely are spotted among roman guard regions.

And our hero had not the spurs nor a tournament square to get back in time. He also felt the weight of the firewood now pushing against his back as he thought of this on his way back home.

    The End
